Adult & Couples

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons and why you are seeking therapy is going to be an excellent starting point for our work together. Generally speaking, I do what we call talk therapy. How that looks will depend on your goals for therapy.

I believe building a strong relationship with my clients is the vessel in which quality therapeutic work comes from. I will be unconditionally compassionate, empathetic, caring and nonjudgmental. I want to create a space in which I can help guide you on your path to further healing and growth.

I do couples therapy using the Gottman Method. To start, this means the first three sessions will be focused on completing a comprehensive assessment. The first session will involve both of you, then we will do one individual session with each of you before returning for a third session with everyone. That will complete the assessment phase of the therapy. From there, we will dive more into the areas we want to strengthen and the areas we want to build back up again.

Our sessions will be 50 minutes long. How often we have sessions is a conversation we can have during your first session. Generally, folks prefer to do weekly sessions to get started. I can give a recommendation, but ultimately it's up to you how often we meet. For Couples therapy, our first session will be a little longer, about 80-90 minutes.
