Teen / Adolescent
Well done! Reaching out for support can be the hardest part.
Confidentiality is with you, not with you and your parents/guardians. What we discuss remains between us. What we decide to work toward in therapy will be based on what you want to get out of therapy.
Never been to therapy or worried what it might look like? You are not alone. We will take things one session at a time. For the first session, I will give you a good idea of what you can expect, what therapy is, what therapy is not. Just know that I am here for you and what it is that you want to accomplish.
I do work with teens of all gender identities. If you are a woman or non-binary individual, I don’t blame you for being skeptical working with a therapist that is a man. My hope and goal is that you work with a therapist that you feel comfortable working with, either myself or someone else. We can always find you someone else if it does not feel like a good fit with me.
Parent/guardian involvement is not guaranteed and is on a case by case basis. Bringing anyone else into sessions is planned, never a surprise, and a decision we would make together. You, as the client, have the final say in bringing anyone else into the room.

Most common challenges that clients come to me with:
Addiction
Anxiety
Depression
Family conflict
Low self-esteem
Relationship struggles
Self Harm
Suicidal thinking/ideation
Overwhelm/Stress
Our sessions will be 50 minutes long. How often we have sessions is a conversation we can have during your first session. Generally, folks prefer to do weekly sessions to get started. I can give a recommendation, but ultimately it's up to you how often we meet.
